After helping pioneer Armenian rap, selling their first independent release, and stepping away for 25 years to raise their families, The Armenian Twins are back—blending Armenian identity with modern rap, pop, melody, and music made from the heart.
Spotlight Story
Their story began when their father helped a stranger who needed gas. The man thanked him with a small Yamaha keyboard, and that unexpected gift became the starting point for two brothers teaching themselves to create music by ear.
First Breakthrough
Record stores would not even listen once they heard the word “rap.” Their father believed anyway, helping them press 1,000 tapes and CDs. Two days after delivery, every copy was gone.
Armenian Hip-Hop History
The twins describe their release as the first Armenian rap album. From Armenian melodies and words to songs about history and identity, cultural pride was built into the music from the beginning.
The Long Pause
Marriage, children, work, and the realities of earning a living pulled them away from public music for 25 years. Even then, they kept writing and recording for themselves whenever life gave them room.
The Comeback
A friend heard their unreleased music and pushed them to share it. Today they are not chasing weddings, stardom, or algorithms; if a song helps one listener through a difficult moment, they call that success.
